Replication Schools
The S³TAIR Project model will support development of collaborative
partnerships between validated and funded Effective Practice Mentor
Schools and Replication Schools that have a
need to improve outcomes for students with disabilities.
Just as Effective Practice Mentor Schools
will receive grants to support their participation as mentors,
Replication districts/schools will receive Replication School Grants to
support development of a partnership with a Mentor School in support of
replicating an evidence based effective.
Characteristics of
schools that will be successful Replication Schools include:
- Evidence of their understanding of their area of need, as
documented in a Quality Improvement Plan developed with the New York
State Education Department or with a Special Education Services
Intervention Specialist, or a similar plan based on an analysis of
data to identify causality.
- Difficulty in successfully implementing or sustaining evidence
based practices identified in their plan after completion of
professional development and technical assistance in the area or
areas of need.
- The initial group of Replication Schools was
determined and the first cohort of Mentor/Replication Partnerships
formed in summer 2010.
