Effective Practice Schools
Effective Practice Schools represent an important resource in the
school reform effort.
A critical element of the S³TAIR Project model is creation of
collaborative relationships between validated Effective Practice Schools
and Replication Schools that have a need to improve outcomes for
students with disabilities.
Effective Practice School
Grants
Schools that have achieved Effective Practice School
status have the opportunity to apply for a grant to support both their
collaboration with regional facilitators to fully document their
practice implementation and to support development of a mentor
relationship with a replication school.
Effective Practice School grant awards will be made on the basis of a
competitive application process. Consideration will be given to the
district/school's plan for collaboration and for the need of models in
the area of their validated practice. Regional facilitators will work
with both schools to facilitate the logistics of interaction and the
development of the working partnership.
Effective Practice School grants resulting in beneficial partnerships
with Replication Schools may be renewed annually for the period of the
federal grant as determined by the New York State Education Department.
